Die Taborstraße ist eine typisch innerstädtische Einkaufsstrasse. Geprägt von kleinen Familienbetrieben, Spezialgeschäften und internationalen Läden. All das erinnert mich an frühere Zeiten, auch wenn sich manches verändert hat. Ich kenne die Taborstraße wie meine Westentasche, denn als Teenager habe ich hier viel Zeit verbracht.
Eine der vielen Tabaktrafiken in Wien. Das leuchtend gelbe Schild passte gut zu meinem Outfit mit der gelben Handtasche.
Rund um den Karmeliterplatz erstreckt sich das jüdische Viertel voller kultureller Vielfalt.
Das Viertel ist seit dem 13. Jahrhundert von jüdischem Leben geprägt. Es gibt hier unter anderem koschere Restaurants, Cafés und Bistros.

Das Odeon Serapions Theater
Das Haus wurde 1845 erbaut und war damals für seinen riesigen Tanzsaal bekannt. Er war mit 4.641 m² und einer Deckenhöhe von 15 Metern der größte Saal in Wien.
Ein Second Hand Geschäft mit einer liebevoll dekorierten Auslage.
Die Taborstraße besticht mit ihrem rauen Charme, ungeschönt und nicht poliert. Sie ist eine der teuren und begehrten Wohnadressen Wiens.

Die Leopoldstadt hat uns vor Jahren schwer beindruckt. Wieviel jüdisches Leben dort noch ist. Deine Fotos zeigen es ja auch. Dort war die Ankunftsstelle mit dem Bahnhof für Juden u.a. aus Galizien, die dann sich auch gleich dort ansiedelten.

Wenn man mit der Tram reinfährt, kommt man in eine andere Welt. Ganz anders als der 1. Bezirk.

Taborstraße looks fantastic, gorgeous old buildings and lots of greenery. I hate those bland modern shopping centres with nothing but plate glass and concrete, this looks like somewhere you can wander happily all day. The photo with the bicycles parked is particularly beautiful.

Ein Geschäft, das Du auf einem Foto zeigst, ist die „Wundertüte“. Ich finde, ganz Wien ist eine solche. Immer wieder überrascht Du mich, die Wien nicht kennt, mit neuen großen und kleinen Attraktionen. Mittlerweile habe ich aber das Gefühl, Wien irgendwie gut zu kennen. Dass es ein jüdisches Viertel gibt, wusste ich nicht. Es ist bestimmt historisch und markant, ähnlich wie das Viertel „Marais“ in Paris, das ich immer wieder besuche, wenn ich mal in Paris bin. Dort herrscht ein ganz eigenes, interessantes Leben. Witzig das Pärchen in der roten Ampel. So löst man leicht und locker die Frage der Gleichberechtigung.... Dein Outfit mit dem weiten Rock mag ich sehr. Die Tasche ist natürlich der Hingucker.
